The Best Travel Accessories for Your Hair in 2020: Take Your Hair With You

by admin

My hair was long when I started traveling. It reached my belly button and I had to struggle to manage it. My naturally curly, frizzy hair is prone to frizz in humid climates.

Friends fans will be familiar with the episode in Barbados where Monika has wild hair — my hair looks very similar.

Even though I have tried to travel without hair tools and accessories, au naturale hair is not for me.

After trying a lot of hair accessories and products, and meeting people with longer hair than mine on the road, I believe I have the best travel hair accessories.

1 : GHD Air HairdryerGHD Air Travel Hair Dryer

I have tried many different travel hair dryers, including the GHD flight and Babyliss and Remington, but none of them impressed me. I then came across the GHDAir. I was staying with a friend in London, and ended up using her hairdryer. She had a GHDAir and I was immediately impressed.

It dried my hair fast and made it less frizzy than usual. It was so impressive that I bought one the next day and have taken it with me on every trip since.

Although the GHD Air is not a travel hairdryer, I find it to be THE BEST. It is lightweight and compact so I can pack it easily in my backpack or suitcase.

2: GHD Gold Straighteners

After I bought my GHD Air I was sold on GHD. I also looked at their straighteners. I tried the Mini Stylers as well as the most recent GHD Platinum+. However, I decided that the Gold straighteners were the best for traveling.

The GHD Minis were made for traveling, but it took me quite a while before they could straighten my hair. Although the GHD Golds were slightly larger, they were still lightweight and sleek.

Combining these straighteners with the Air Hairdryer make them the ideal hair tools for traveling. These can be used in all climates to achieve straightening or curling hair that is not frizzy.

3: Tangle Teezer BrushTangle Teezer Travel Hair Brush

Tangle Teezer brush manages to untangle hair without pulling. These bad boys can be used to brush my hair without causing any pain. They are also compact and available in a variety of colours.

The mint-coloured brush is my personal favorite, as it matches some of my other travel accessories such as my Seafoam Yeti Bottle and pastel blue Antler suitcase.

4: Clips and Hair Ties

This is a common one, but clips and ties are worthy of a spot on this list. It’s sometimes easier to just put my hair in a ponytail or bun than risk my hair getting tangled by wind or waves. You should bring a lot of hair accessories, including scrunchies and bobby pins. If you are anything like me, most of your hair accessories will be lost by the time you get to the airport. It’s best to bring a lot.

5: Headbands

Headbands can be one of your best travel accessories. Headbands are a great way to keep your hair from falling out of your face, and allow you to try so many styles.

They can be worn with your hair up or down. They have two superpowers. One, they can cover up greasy roots, which is useful for those who don’t have the time. Two, they are basically stylish sweatbands that can be used in hot climates. You can also wear thick woolly headbands to keep warm in colder areas.

6 – Argan Oil

Argan oil can be used to prevent your hair from getting frizzy when you travel to humid places. It helps to keep your hair healthy, prevents split ends, and encourages growth. It doubles up as an anti-wrinkle moisturizer.

Argan oil is usually 150ml in size. If you are traveling light and have only cabin luggage, it will not be a problem to get through customs. Even though the bottles are small, this oil is very versatile and can last for a long time.

7: Hair scissors

It depends on where you are going and how long you plan to stay there, but it might be worth packing your own scissors. Instead of letting my hair grow out, I have trimmed my hair myself to prevent split ends.

After watching YouTube videos showing how to cut my hair myself, I purchased a pair of scissors online. They are now one of my most essential travel accessories.

8: Hair Turban Towel

When I get out of the bath, I want to cover my hair with a towel turban. If you are traveling light, it is not practical to carry both a regular towel and a hair towel. Instead of using a regular towel that takes up too much space, I use a lightweight turban towel. These towels are small enough to fit in a backpack or suitcase, but can wrap long hair.
